How to Add Music to a Fitbit Versa

There’s enough space on your Fitbit Versa for about 300 songs, so with a few steps, you can have your playlist anywhere you go as long as you’re wearing your watch.

Download and install the Fitbit Connect app on your computer.   Open the Fitbit Connect app on your computer and select Manage My Music. Both your computer and your watch must be on the same network to transfer music to your watch. On your Versa, go to the Music app and tap Transfer Music. It may take a minute or longer for your watch and your computer to connect. Once connected, select the playlist you want to transfer to your Fitbit Versa. You can select multiple playlists at once. The Fitbit Versa supports MP3, MP4, AAC, and WMA audio files. Wait for the download to complete. It may take some time, especially if there are a lot of songs on your playlists.

How to Add Playlists to a Fitbit Versa From a Music Streaming Service

If you’re a fan of streaming music, you might be disappointed to find out that you can’t stream music on your Fitbit Versa. However, if you have the premium versions of Pandora and Deezer, you can transfer downloaded playlists. These instructions apply to Deezer, but the process is similar for both services.

Open the Deezer app on your Versa. You should see an activation code. On your computer, open the Fitbit Deezer page and enter the activation code shown on your watch. Follow the instructions on your watch screen to log in or create a Deezer account. In the Fitbit app on your computer or mobile device, go to the Today tab and tap your profile image in the upper-left corner. Tap the Versa icon, then tap Media > Deezer. Tap Add Music and choose the playlist you want to transfer from the Featured or My Playlists categories. In the Deezer app, you can download as many playlists as you have space for on your Versa. In Pandora, you are limited to only three playlists. Plug your Versa into the charger to automatically start the download. The process can take several minutes to complete, depending on the size of the playlists you’re transferring. If you don’t want to connect your Versa to the charger, tap the three dots in the Deezer app menu, then tap Force sync now to initiate the transfer.

How to Control Streaming Music From a Fitbit Versa

While you can’t stream music on your Fitbit Versa or Versa 2, you can control streaming music (start, stop, change tracks, and control the volume) on your connected smartphone using the Versa’s Bluetooth controls.

Connect a Bluetooth audio device, such as wireless earbuds or a Bluetooth speaker, to your Fitbit Versa. On your Versa, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the music controls icon.   Make sure the correct music source is chosen. If necessary, tap the three dot menu on the Versa, then tap the watch icon. Now you can control your music using your Versa. If you’re using Spotify on your Versa watch, you’ll need to control your music through the Spotify app for Fitbit Versa and Versa 2.
