Like many other LinkedIn members, you probably know where to find your profile and how to optimize it, but did you know that you can display a LinkedIn profile badge on your blog, online resume, or website?

A LinkedIn profile badge showcases your profile photo, headline, and a “View Profile” link to your profile. In this article, you’ll learn how to add a LinkedIn profile badge to your blog, online resume, or website.

How to Add a LinkedIn Profile Badge to Your Blog, Online Resume, or Website

There are two key steps you need to take when adding a LinkedIn profile badge to your blog, online resume, or website.

1. Copy the LinkedIn Profile Badge Code Script

Here’s how:

Go to LinkedIn and sign in to your account if you aren’t already. Here’s what to do if you forgot your LinkedIn password. Click on your profile name in the left-hand pane, otherwise, click on the Me button, then click on View Profile. Click on Edit public profile & URL on the right-hand pane. A new window will open. Scroll all the way down the right pane and click on the Create a badge button under the “Public Profile badge” section. On the “Public profile page builder” you’ll find a script or snippet of code. You’ll need to copy and paste this code into your website editor. Click Copy code and the code will be copied onto your clipboard. To paste it into your webpage, you’ll need to log in to your website’s backend.

2. Paste the Code Into Your Website Editor

For this demonstration, we’ll show you how to insert the LinkedIn profile badge in the homepage of a WordPress website. Here’s how:

Log in to your WordPress admin area, and go to your dashboard. Scroll down the left pane, hover your mouse pointer over Pages, and select All Pages from the flyout. Hover your mouse pointer over Home and click on Edit with Elementor if you have it installed. Alternatively, you can click on Edit if you prefer to use the default WordPress editor. Inside Elementor, click on the portion of the homepage where you want the profile badge displayed. Make sure that it is inside the “Text Editor” tool. For this example, we want it displayed just above the social media buttons, so we click on the Connect with me on social media box. The “Text Editor” will open in the left pane. Click on Text in the “Text Editor” toolbar, press Enter on your keyboard to start a new line of code, then paste the code you copied from LinkedIn. Go to the “Public profile page builder” page on LinkedIn, where you copied the earlier code. Choose a badge from the options shown. You can choose either the light or dark mode. You can also select among the different badge sizes. Click on Small, Medium, Large, or Extra Large to preview each size. Click the appropriate Copy code button when done. Return to the Elementor Text Editor and paste the code right next to the previous code. Your LinkedIn profile name and profile badge should now appear. When visitors click on the View Profile button, it will take them straight to your LinkedIn profile.

Show Off Your LinkedIn Badge

Go ahead and display your LinkedIn profile badge on your blog, online resume, or website. Apart from the added aesthetics, it makes you look even more professional.

If people can click on your LinkedIn profile and come to your website, for instance, it makes sense that they can also access your LinkedIn profile directly from your website.

This is one of several things you can do to help you stand out from millions of other LinkedIn members. You can also customize your LinkedIn profile URL and join popular LinkedIn groups for job seekers, among others.
